Please note that scheduled meeting days and times, facilitators, group hiatus, and even existence of a group, may vary from those listed, so check in advance before planning to attend.

Preface

To the navigator of this webpage, likely a Caregiver for a person who suffered and survived Stroke.  This webpage is purposed to provide pertinent information regarding Stroke Support Groups for Survivors, Caregivers, family and friends.   Having the information in one place to refer to hopefully will be of help for you (and others) in saving you (and others) time and frustration.

Please know that this webpage (and indeed the website) has been assembled as a resource, and hopes are that you will receive compassion, love, consideration and utility from this assemblage.  All of which were an integral part of this website's assemblage.

This website originates from the Finger Lakes Region of New York State.  A generalization about the listings scheme for this Caregiver Support Groups webpage.  Higher on the list generalizes as groups geo-centric to Finger Lakes Region of New York State, and lower on the list generalizes as groups outside that home base.

American Stroke Association - Stroke Support Group Finder tool

Support groups for survivors and caregivers are key to recovering from stroke. Support groups connect you with others who have similar stories. It’s where you will find new friends, support, hope, and encouragement as you embark on your post-stroke journey.

Note: Please be advised, there are system limitations within this tool. Not all Stroke Support Groups are listed in this tool.  Search is by zip code, so you must enter a zip code to find a group within a maximum 50 mile radius of said zip code.   Search by geographic city, area, etc is not possible in this tool per se... however a possible "work-around" given the system limitation is to use an online search engine (Google, DuckDuckGo, etc) searching for a Stroke Support Group by geographic city name (etc) and results may or may not come forth when using this tack.
